FAQ's

1. Improper Datefield Display in CompassPoint Software (Y2K Related)
(Release Date - Jan 03, 2000
)

Problem - The date will not properly display after Dec 31st, 1999 in the date fields for the Dirt Library/CompassPoint software.

Program/Equipment Affected - Dirt Library, CompassPoint, Windows 9x.

Correction Procedure -

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click on the Start button on the bottom left corner of your screen.
  3. Select Settings, which will highlight blue, then select Control Panel.
  4. Double click on Regional Settings. This will produce a tabbed dialog box - Regional Settings Properties.



  5. Click on the Date tab at the top of the panel. Under the Short Date section, notice the Short Date Style which is likely displayed as m/d/yy.
  6. Click on the down arrow at the right of the drop down menu.
  7. Choose the style shown as m/d/yyyy. Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the dialog box. Click OK.
  8. Close the Control Panel Screen.
  9. Re-boot your computer. The programs will now accommodate both 1900 and 2000.
