	1981	Microview founded.
	1984	Martin Sharkey pioneers a technique for viewing and measuring paint thickness on coated plastic surfaces.
	1985 to 1989	Microview expands its knowledge base and begins working with Fortune 500 companies including Ford, Honda, General Motors, PPG, Toyota and BASF to improve their inspection and analysis systems for paints and coatings.
	1990	GM asks Microview to design a system for inspecting contaminants on paint surfaces. The system becomes a standard part of quality assurance in many plants across North America.
	1994	Microview enhances the system designed for GM and develops the Defect Imaging Resource Technology (D.I.R.T.®) system. D.I.R.T.® becomes the standard across the paint and coatings industry and entrenches Microview as the leader in the coatings market.
	1998	Microview develops and installs systems for the automotive industry in the United Kingdom, Germany and China.
	1999	General Motors directs its suppliers to adopt the D.I.R.T.® III system for coating measurements on flexible substraits e.g. weatherstripping and door and trunk seals. Microview develops and installs systems for the automotive industry in Brazil and Sweden.
